The vet and I talked at length and with her history of a sensitive stomach, he thinks she could just haf sumthing that has put her stomach in severe turmoil.  Just got to keep her hydrated and he has now prescribed stomach calming meds along with the antibiotics.  She's still very sick, but is drinking well and resting.  I'm watching her efurry move. Thanks to efurrybody fur those purrs and purrayers! xoxo

  11. Hi Princess Mom
Just wanted to let you know that I have been using slippery elm bark (organic) for several months. The vet diagnosed (which I don't agree with) IBD for Abby. She was soooo sick for several days. I had changed her food and it just sent her little system into a tizzy. Once I got her system back to normal I began giving her the elm in ALL of her food and also in her water. There is NO side effects at all to the elm in fact it has been an herbal remedy for centuries. I feel it helps Abby. The syrup is very easy to make and I tried it myself to see if it was bitter, and it's not, in fact Abby loves that I make her food a bit mushy. I highly recommend this for an upset stomach or hyper active colon, because it soothes the walls of both and calms down the inflammation.
    I hope this helps.

  12. That doesn't sound too bad if the blood work is OK. I have heard that the Slippery Elm is good but havne't tried it yet. It sure would be worth a try. We are still sending tons of purrs to you Princess that you will feel so much better really soon. Take care.

  14. The King is SO happy to hear that his Royal associate is feeling a bit better. Drinking and staying hydrated is really, really good.

I hope the elm helps--the first we heard of it was when Miss Abby got sick, and we hope it helps Princess too.

My Human's default treatment for sick kitties who are off their food? A little fingerful of Gerber's. It might be worth a try if she is not eating something pretty soon.

    XOXOXOX Purrs continue!

  16. A good report - now to get her feeling better. We need to read about this slippery elm as Mom is wondering if it works for dogs too.

    Feel better, Princess.

  19. Maybe they should x-ray her to see if there's an intestinal blockage? Or an ulcer. Aunt Pauline's cat couldn't stop frowing up and had an ulcer. I hope the vet guessed right and she'll get better.

  22. Me is so happy that princess is feeling better! Me hopes she gets feeling better fast! Me don't drink enough and to keeps me hydrated, Mommy puts half a can of warm water in my canned food. Not only does it get all the stuff stuck to the sides and bottom of the can, but me loves it!
It also helps my pukey tummy.
