Close Call on Wednesday

Princeton

Just a note from the Mommy:  Some kitteh pee mailed into an electrical outlet.  There were sparks, nasty black smoke, and a funny sizzling noise.  Oh, and lots of HBO words.   Thank Baste we were home.  Everyone is fine, but frazzled.

Happy Wednesday and purrs, y'all.

  3. That sounds scary. We hope the offending kitteh (and everyone else in the house) is not too traumatized. Glad to hear everyone is fine.

  5. Thank goodness you are all okay. We have to confess that somekitty did EXACTLY the same here on Saturday. Luckily the fuse blew so there was just a smell...... Äiti did not reaöise what had happened until the microwave didn't work. Then there were lots of very interesting words. She easily fixed it all with a new fuse and then a new plug on the microwave. And now she's buying 'plug protectors'........

  16. OMC! Sounds like outlet covers are on order at your house. Glad no serious damage was done.

  17. We're quite sure that none of you is claiming responsibility for this. It makes our mom feel better that other pawrents have to deal with inappropriate peeing behavior, not that she wishes that on anybody. Glad no fur was fried, no one was injured and the house did not catch on fire. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  19. That is so frightening. Outlet covers for certain and Princeton, you need to come clean as to what made you do that!

  22. OMC, how scary! That happened here, years ago, with a power strip under the head peep's desk. To this day, the electric strip is attached to the leg of the desk with zip ties.

The manpeep says that if that's a problem, ask an electrician about GFI plugs, which are meant for wet areas, like kitchens. They probably don't have to be on every single plug, because the protection on it can protect more than one outlet near each other if they're on the same circuit. (Now we'll probably have the manpeep replacing our plugs that he's thought of it!)

  24. Whoa! Peeing in an electrical socket is just wrong for so many reasons. Did the fire department have to come? Thankfully the peeps were home.
