Prancer Pie Update
From the Mommy: Mommy's little mancat passed today at 1:45 while I held him in my arms. I didn't feel like even typing out the words. I am beyond devastated and can't imagine my life without Prancer Pie. I will get back to blogging, but now Precious, Princeton, the Daddy and I, need to pull ourselves together.

ReplyDeleteWe are utterly shocked and saddened by this too. Äiti read it at 2am and couldn't sleep afterwards. We have a candle on the catio for him, lighting his way to the Bridge where he will join so many friends (catiocam is working too right now so you can see the candle across the miles).

ReplyDeleteOh, I'm beyond sorry, beyond words. I'm in tears typing this...Yesterday was the anniversary of Chumley's passing and perhaps he was there to greet Prancer Pie at the Bridge.
I don't know what happened, but please, please don't ever think you didn't do everything humanly possible. You did, without question. But we have no power over life and death, that's to the Fates, to God, whatever you choose to call it.
I'm sending you universal Light and Nicki and Derry are sending soft purrs.
Take as much time as you need to work through your grief.

Someone told us a word that best describes - we believe - the feeling that you must be feeling now. We know how you feel...well, Mom does...this is the word: 'saudade'. If you don't know what it means, here is the Wikipedia definition: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saudade (Mom talking now) The person that gave me this word did so when I was very sad over the loss of my Lolo...now I am passing it on to you. Not to make you feel more pain, but, at least, to have a word for that pain. It is a lovely word, just as Prancer Pie was a lovely being. ...... and Prancer saw there was no pain, suffering, fear, sickness, hunger, thirst or sorrow, until he looked down and saw the family and friends he had left behind. ......and for a very brief moment, the little cat too, was filled with sorrow.
Then St Francis bestowed Prancer with a set of gossamer wings and said, "Use them to return to your family, when their need is the greatest, as nothing can separate your bond of love. Hold each other in your hearts and your memories, until you are reunited again at heaven's door."

My heart is broken for you and I cannot tell you how very much we are going to miss your little man who we adore and love so much. I am so so sorry for your loss and heartache. I know that there are no words of comfort that will take away all the pain from the loss of such a beloved family member. Prancer was your special baby boy. I know it won't seem like it now, but he is still with you, now on a different journey, but a parallel one. ReplyDeleteWe share in your Sadness & Grief az da mom & dad had to help Sunny to the Bridge also today...... he passed az da mom held him furry close @ 12:20 pm.
Her niece also passed yesterday frum a GMB brain tumor. So da mom iz too sad to post anythin at this point.
We hopez dat Prancer & Sunny are traveling together to tha Bridge.

ReplyDeleteOh Prancer pie we are going to miss you. I know oh so much how hard this is Mom and Dad. Time does help but you will remember always, he lives on in your hearts. Sometimes you have to wonder how animals can make such an impact on your lives, but they sure do. But you know, even has hard as it is to loose them, I couldn't live without any of them.
