SUPERMOON AND RECEDING THUNDERSTORM |
Hi efurrybody! It's the Mommy here. Just wanted to share something strange with you this Thursday. Top pic I took of supermoon and a thunderstorm that had just passed us a week or so ago. I cropped the strange light that is in the bottom pic (on the right) out of the top pic. I thought it might have been something off our yard light. Upon further investigation, it is coming from our electric pole at the edge of our property. There is a pole and transformer there. Yikes! (no, we never lost power or got hit) Any ideas?
Meanwhile... Precious had a checkup/vaccines this week. She was so well behaved and only sang me a few songs on the way there and back. She got an excellent report and even gave me a little love after we got home. She wasn't feeling gratuitous enough to allow me a photo, though. MOL!
PRECIOUS - NO WAY, MOM. |
Happy Thursday efurrybody and purrs, y'all!
Well done Precious! Great photo show sit all!
ReplyDeleteÄiti here: from the photo is looks like there was a bit of camera movement as the Moon and the mystery light both have tails. I have two suggestions, if there are no artificial lights anywhere: first is that it is ball lightning, about which I know very little but the orange colour is a bit weird - I would expect fork lightning to be more blue. Second suggestion is that it is a 'streamer' - lightning strikes actually start from flows upwards from the ground, sometimes these flows attract a bolt, other times they just fizzle out and there's no strike. If this is from a metal pole I wonder if there was a streamer coming out and this was glowing. I need to think a bit more about it. If anyone can answer it, the humans at Tonk's Tale can :)

We're not so sure we want to know what the strange light is. Glad to hear the vet check up went well. Brûlée goes next week
ReplyDeleteWow, that is kind of frightening!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Precious had a good check-up, though! And that it didn't cramp her spirit.
Glad da check up went smoovly and all is well. And weez glad yous didn't lose da power or get hurt.
ReplyDeleteLuv ya'

Hmm, dat is a strange light.
ReplyDeleteWe don't like unexpected lights coming from poles with transformers. Around here, that only happens when there's a loud sound, then no air conditioning for a while.
ReplyDeleteI would report and offer to show that to the local power company,as it may indicate a problem looming. xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteWow those are gorgeous photos...of the super moon and OMCs on the strange light in the corner. Never seen I transformer do that.
ReplyDeleteHugs madi your bfff
Those are great photos but I don't anything about the strange light. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Precious did so well at her appt. By the looks of the picture, she's still a feisty tuxie, the best kind. :)
Good girl, Precious!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what that light could be but I would be very interested to find out!
Happy Thursday! We agree - just contact the power company and hopefully they will check it out.
ReplyDeleteI would check the basement for pods!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Punapippuri. One overcast cloudy day I was driving home and saw a small streamer of blue come up from the ground in the field near the road. It was the first and only time I've seen that. If it had connected it would have been very scary.
ReplyDeleteThat light...those are aliens, they've been here too!
ReplyDeleteI am glad that Precious' check up went well.
ReplyDeleteThe light is strange. We have an electricity pylon in one of our fields and when it is misty you can see the sparks jumping between the insulators.
Glad you got a clean bill of health, Precious. The moon/storm photos are really wonderful. Our humans didn't get to see the super moon 'cause our sky was totally clouded over. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteOhhh Precious is getting so big! What a good girl!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteprecious...glad ya getted a grate chex up N yes we noe what de ~~~~~ thing iz....
ReplyDeleteitza ale ee ends
No clue what that light could be, but it looks like some of your readers had some ideas. We have been lucky enough to miss a lot of those storms lately, but with all this heat and humidity, we bet more will be on the way.
ReplyDeleteGreat news on Precious' visit - good news is always welcome.
Woos - Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning
Is there a road where the streak of light is? It looks like car lights to us. Precious we are glad you got a good report!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm...we don't know what that strange light is. If it was lightening, we're glad it didn't hurt anything.
ReplyDeletePrecious, we're happy to hear you survived your vet visit. ;)
Precious so very glad that you got a good report from the V.E.T. and that you sang the Song of Our People for your Mom. Very nice shunning of the camera tuxie-tude!
ReplyDeleteLuv ya!
